Tim Clark is co-founder and Managing Principal of Capefirst Funding, LLC, a commercial lending, factoring, and investment company based in Northern Virginia. Previously, Mr. Clark was CEO of Academic Management Services, Inc., an education finance and loan servicing organization originating almost $1 billion in loan volume annually, CFO of Lighthouse Underwriters, a commercial insurance MGA, and CEO of Gazelle Technical Services, a telecommunications contractor providing infrastructure services to mobile carriers. Mr. Clark was also a banking and insurance securities analyst for international investment bank Alex. Brown & Sons, and at MNC Financial, he oversaw units providing financing to buyers of general aviation aircraft and recreational watercraft, and divisions engaged in auto leasing and home equity lending. At international consultancy Management Analysis Center, Inc. and with Talegis LLC, Mr. Clark advised money center and regional banks on corporate and business unit strategy, chartered a de novo federal savings bank on behalf of a major trade association, and oversaw or participated on teams that assessed M&A opportunities and addressed problem-solving initiatives such as merger integration, business unit divestiture, business process automation, market segmentation, and differential pricing. In addition to his work in the financial services industry, Mr. Clark has advised, and has provided or otherwise originated debt and equity financing for, small and mid-size companies in such sectors as SaaS, software development, data analytics, training, consumer products (cosmetics and food), medical devices and services, professional services, energy, and construction, including contractors serving principally the State Department and U.S. defense and intelligence agencies. Mr. Clark is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and earned an MBA from the Darden School at the University of Virginia.
