Mr. Mastorakis is a Greek national, born in Cairo Egypt. Studied initially at the Greek school and subsequently the American University in Cairo; economics and business administration. Fluent in four languages, he resides in Monaco since 1986. Married for 37 years. He lived a number of years in Italy where in 1976 he headed the Industrial Joint Venture department of the Italian Chamber of Commerce for the AOPEC countries (NGO) thus specializing in Industrial Ventures, Barter and Counter-trade. The countries that regularly travelled were Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and the Emirates.
In the early eighties he became a shareholder and a ‘’non executive’’ member of the board of the engineering company Interplastica S.A., a Swiss company specialising in industrial turnkey manufacturing facilities in the former Soviet Union and its satellites a well as other developing countries. The company in addition to engineering developed technologies, patents, and carried out innovative cost effective product development. Interplastica International Ltd, (UK) was formed later and Mr Mastorakis was responsible for financing the turn-key projects, trade, project finance, and forfeiting in various industrial sectors.
In 1991 he sold his holdings, resigned from Interplastica and established his own company: Omikron Group Ltd. In recent years he concentrated on the business of Omikron which he is the Chairman, and its associate companies arranging third party financing for projects, sub-contracting suppliers and turnkey operators with emphasis on the health and paramedical field. In particular, Mr Mastorakis has helped to establish a number of manufacturing facilities. Between 1995 to 1998 became the Chairman and shareholder of two Publicly Listed Companies on AIM London Stock Exchange: Alfa-Omikron Plc. (medical) and Fairmont Natural Resources Plc. (forestry concessions in Russia).
Mr Mastorakis resigned in 1999 from both companies which at some point delisted and became privately owned. Since 1999, Mr Mastorakis devoted most of his time in searching for advanced safe medical devices. In 2000 filled for intellectual property rights for a ‘’needle retractable device’’ known as Clickzip™ www.omikrongroup.net and was granted patents in many countries. In 2005 with others formed the Medical Device Manufacturer (Thailand) Ltd., company together with the Government Pharmaceutical Organization of Thailand. Mr Mastorakis resigned in 2007 to pursue other interest. Clickzip™ is now produced under license in China, and in India in a combined formula of royalties for some countries and Joint Venture ‘’free sale worldwide’’ on profit basis. License Manufacturing Agreements are negotiated in South Africa for the SACD countries with the National Empowerment Fund, in Egypt with the Vacsera Co., Ministry of Health the major Vaccines producer in the Middle East. Other: Institute of Directors London (IOD) active member for 7 years. Private Equity & Venture Capital Ass. Monaco (MVCA) active member 4 years. Leisure Interest in Yachting: Mr Mastorakis is a qualified Captain/Navigator with license issued in 1974 by the Italian Ministry of Mercantile Marine and from the Service de la Marine, Principality of Monaco in 1992.
